At Warren Bracegirdle Painters & Decorators, we pride ourselves on meticulous attention to detail, evident in our recent undertaking of a period function room restoration in town/location.
Our methodology prioritised both preservation and enhancement, resulting in a space that combines historical features with modern-day requirements.
The walls of the function room first underwent a rigorous process of steam stripping to remove old finishes. Subsequent preparation involved filling and sealing to ensure a uniformly smooth surface.
To enhance durability and achieve a refined finish, we applied a high-quality fibre lining paper. The walls were then treated to four coats of paint, a shade thoughtfully chosen by the client.
For the woodwork, our approach was systematic. We began by preparing and filling any defects, ensuring a consistent surface ready for painting. A primer was applied to optimise paint adhesion. This was succeeded by an undercoat to establish a solid foundation, and finally, a top coat was applied, guaranteeing both aesthetic appeal and longevity.
The ceiling too underwent rigorous preparation and filling. Three coats of emulsion were applied post-preparation to ensure a pristine finish. As a distinct feature, the room's columns were accentuated with a distinguished gold paint, adhering to the client's specific request.
In conclusion, this function room restoration stands as a testament to our commitment to excellence. While we integrated contemporary touches to this function room, we also made sure we respected its historical lineage and original architectural features.
